Myraé jewellery fit guide

Measure once. Wear it comfortably.

Use this guide for rings, bracelets, rigid bangles and necklace lengths. Indian size conventions are shown where they are commonly used. For the best result, send us the measurement in millimetres before ordering.

Before you measure

A home measurement is useful, but small errors can change the fit. These four checks prevent most mistakes.

01

Use millimetres

Millimetres are easier to compare accurately than rounded centimetres or inches.

02

Measure the inside

For an existing ring or bangle, measure from inside edge to inside edge. Do not include the metal.

03

Repeat the reading

Measure two or three times. If the numbers differ, measure again instead of averaging a large difference.

04

Use a normal time of day

Avoid measuring very cold hands or immediately after exercise, heat exposure or heavy salt intake.

How to measure your ring size

Measuring a ring that already fits is usually the better home method. Measure the exact finger and hand on which the new ring will be worn.

Measure the inside diameter of a ring A circular ring with a horizontal measurement line from one inside edge to the other.
Method 1: existing ring

Measure the inside diameter

  1. Choose a round ring that fits the intended finger.
  2. Place it flat on a ruler or calliper.
  3. Measure straight across the centre, from inside edge to inside edge.
  4. Record the diameter to the nearest 0.1 mm.
Measure the circumference of a finger A finger with a paper strip wrapped around its base and an overlap mark.
Method 2: paper strip

Measure the finger circumference

  1. Wrap a narrow, non-stretch paper strip around the finger base.
  2. Keep it snug, but make sure it can pass over the knuckle.
  3. Mark the overlap and measure the strip in millimetres.
  4. Repeat twice and compare the most consistent result with the chart.

Check the knuckle

If the knuckle is wider than the finger base, the ring needs to pass over it without sitting too loosely below.

Wide bands feel tighter

A broad band can feel more snug than a slim band with the same inner circumference. Ask us before choosing between sizes.

Do not copy another finger

The same person can have different sizes across fingers and hands. Measure the intended finger directly.

This chart follows the Indian size convention used by Myraé and ties it to inner circumference in millimetres. Available sizes vary by design. A jeweller's ring gauge is more reliable for wide bands, prominent settings or borderline measurements.

Bangles and bracelets use different measurements

A rigid bangle must pass over the widest part of the hand. A flexible bracelet is chosen from the wrist circumference and the amount of movement you prefer.

Measure a rigid bangle A bangle with a horizontal line showing the inner diameter. INNER DIAMETER

Rigid bangles and closed kadas

  • Best method: measure the inner diameter of a bangle that already fits.
  • Place it flat and measure straight across the centre, inside edge to inside edge.
  • If you do not have a bangle, bring the thumb and little finger together and measure around the widest part of the hand.
  • Do not use wrist circumference for a solid bangle without a clasp.

Useful detail: 2.10 is a traditional Indian bangle label. It is not the decimal number 2.1.
Measure the wrist for a bracelet A wrist with a flexible tape wrapped below the wrist bone. TAPE

Flexible and tennis bracelets

  • Wrap a soft measuring tape around the wrist, just below the wrist bone.
  • Keep the tape close to the skin without pulling it tight.
  • Record the wrist circumference in centimetres and millimetres.
  • As a starting reference, add about 1 cm for a closer fit or 2 cm for a more comfortable fit.

The allowance depends on the clasp, setting, bracelet width and how much movement you prefer. Use the product's stated length and ask before ordering a fixed design.

Choose a necklace length by where you want it to sit

The same chain length can sit differently depending on neck size, height, neckline and pendant length. Use the chart as a placement reference, then measure on your body.

1

Use a soft tape or non-stretch cord and place it around your neck at the point where you want the chain to sit.

2

Check the measurement against the neckline you plan to wear. A higher neckline may need a longer chain.

3

For a pendant, include the bail and pendant drop when judging the final position. The chain length alone does not show the full drop.

4

To copy an existing necklace, lay it straight and measure from one end of the clasp to the other.

The positions above are approximate. Body proportions and pendant size can move the visible drop by several centimetres.

When the jewellery is a gift

Do not estimate from height, weight or an average size. Use a piece she already wears or choose a category that does not need an exact fit.

Ring

Borrow a ring worn on the intended finger and measure its inside diameter. A ring from another finger can give the wrong size.

Rigid bangle

Measure the inner diameter of a bangle that already passes comfortably over her hand.

Bracelet

An adjustable design is safer when the wrist measurement is unknown. Check the minimum and maximum length.

Pendant or earrings

These usually carry less sizing risk. For a pendant, check whether she prefers a short or longer chain.

Size questions that are worth asking

If your measurement sits between two entries, send the exact millimetre reading and the product link before choosing.

What is the most reliable way to measure an Indian ring size at home?

Measure the inside diameter of a round ring that already fits the intended finger. Use millimetres and measure from inside edge to inside edge across the centre. A jeweller's ring gauge remains more accurate.

What should I do if I am between two ring sizes?

Do not decide from the chart alone. Consider the knuckle, band width and how snug you prefer the fit. Send us the exact circumference or diameter and the ring link before ordering.

Is bracelet size the same as bangle size?

No. A flexible bracelet is measured around the wrist and needs a fit allowance. A rigid bangle is selected by inner diameter because it must pass over the widest part of the hand.

Does 2.10 bangle size mean 2.1 inches?

No. It is a traditional Indian bangle size label. A 2.10 bangle has an inner diameter of about 67 mm.

Which necklace length is best for an everyday pendant?

Many people begin with 18 or 20 inches, but the right choice depends on neck size, neckline and pendant drop. Measure where you want the pendant to finish rather than choosing from an average.

Can Myraé help with custom sizing?

Yes. Custom sizing and size exchange are available for applicable pieces. Share the product link and exact measurement so the options can be confirmed before ordering.
